Bodywhys is currently recruiting face to face support group volunteers in the Sligo area.

What is a Bodywhys support group?

Commitment: Volunteers are required to commit to the service for 2 - 4 hours per month, and a minimum of one year.

Requirements: To be considered for a voluntary position within Bodywhys you must be:

* Over 20 years of age
* A good listener
* Have an ability to empathise with others
* Undergo Garda vetting procedure to gain Garda clearance

Full training and supervision will be provided.

Schools Programme Volunteers

January 2013

Bodywhys are looking for volunteers to facilitate the 'Be Body Positive' Schools Programme in the Dublin area.  

The aim of the programme is to encourage discussion in the area of body image and self esteem, to provide relevant information on eating disorders and to help to explore and challenge media stereotypes around beauty.   

We are ideally looking for people who are lively and enthusiastic with excellent communication and presentation skills. 

Experience of working with young people is an advantage.

Support Services Volunteers

As part of the range of support services, Bodywhys offers a LoCall national helpline; local support groups, currently in Carlow, Dublin; an email support service and weekly online support meetings.

All Bodywhys support services are delivered by trained volunteers. On average we have we have opportunities for 30 volunteers annually.
