Researchers at Dublin Business School are conducting research to explore attitudes towards the body positivity movement seen in the media.
Background: Body positivity is a social movement that promotes love and respect for all bodies, challenging the thin ideal often present in Western culture. Recently, there has been growing discussion around media messages about body image and body positivity. Although there is a wide body of literature on body image and related constructs, there is currently no standard measure capturing individuals’ attitudes towards body positivity.
Aim: To collect responses from individuals in the general population to support the development of a scale measuring attitudes towards body positivity.
Format: A short online survey, taking approximately 10 minutes to complete.
Confidentiality: Responses are submitted anonymously.
Ethics: This study received ethical approval from Dublin Business School in January 2025.
