Exploring the experiences of individuals with body dysmorphic disorder

About this study

Researchers in Trinity College Dublin are doing this study to understand more about the experience of individuals  with body dysmorphic disorder. These experiences may include how this emerged in your life, your experiences over time, what it’s like to live in the world with this. They are conducting multiple interviews (3 with each person) with the hope to develop a better understanding of what this is like for people who struggle with this in their lives.

What does participation in this research involve?
Eligibility: To participate in this study, participants must 1) be aged over 18, and 2) meet the criteria for or have a diagnosis of body dysmorphic disorder.

Ethical Approval

Ethical approval has been obtained by Trinity College Dublin board of ethics and is in line with the Psychological Society of Ireland guidelines for human research.
