Recruitment and eligibility
The researchers are recruiting people aged 16 or over who:
- experience ARFID;
- experience anorexia nervosa; or
- do not currently experience eating difficulties.
Participants must live in the UK, Republic of Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand. Participants do not need to have received a formal diagnosis.
What participation involves
Participation involves completing a single online survey about eating experiences and emotions (anxiety, low mood, and feelings of shame). The survey takes approximately 25-30 minutes to complete. There are no interviews or follow-up appointments.

Confidentiality
Participation is voluntary. Survey responses will be treated confidentially and stored securely in accordance with University of Oxford research procedures. Participants will not be asked to provide their name or direct contact details as part of the survey. Further information about data collection and confidentiality is provided in the attached participant information sheet.
Ethical approval
The study has received ethical approval from the University of Oxford (Ethics Reference: MS IDREC 2202800).
