Building an understanding gastrointestinal sensations and related emotions to improve ED treatment approaches

Katerina Rinaldi, a fourth-year doctoral student at Nova Southeastern University (Florida, USA), is conducting a research study exploring the connections between sensory experience, emotions, and food and body-related avoidance in eating disorders. The researchers are specifically interested in the role of the basic emotion of disgust.
Who can take part? To be eligible, participants must be over the age of 18, able to read/write in English, and diagnosed with any eating disorder. Participants must also be receiving support services of some kind, which can include informal peer support groups or outpatient therapy etc. The study consists of a one-time survey lasting 10-15 minutes.
