Study – The meaning of recovery, remission and relapse

Update: July 30th – **Study now closed**

Researchers in Nottingham Trent University are conducing a study on the meaning of recovery, remission and relapse definitions in eating disorders.

Recovery, relapse and remission do not have fixed or recognised definitions, which limits their use in research but can also cause confusion or distress for individuals accessing or transitioning away from eating disorder services. We want our study to include the voices of people who have these experiences of eating disorders to understand how individuals think about these terms, how these definitions were used in therapy (if at all) and how useful they have been.

Participant requirements

  • Experience of an eating disorder.
  • Has experience of therapy for eating disorder.
  • Over 18 years old.
