1. Confidentiality Policy
   Bodywhys and Bodywhys YouthConnect maintain confidentiality within the organisation regarding all information received. We ask you to respect the privacy of others, and to observe this confidentiality in relation to what is discussed during a session. Please do not discuss any of the participants or divulge details of individual cases outside of the session.
2. No printing of dialogue.
   Due to privacy issues, we ask you not to print or otherwise keep a written record of the conversation of a session. Occasionally we publish dialogue given from our guest speakers during special on-line events.
3. No detailed accounts of diet methods, weights, disordered eating behaviours, self-harm or suicide attempts.
   We believe that discussion of this type can be a hindrance to recovery and sometimes counter-productive for those listening. We also ask all participants not to make any requests for photographs of people.
4. We do not allow people conducting research to participate in or observe the group sessions.
   Nor do we allow participants to use any information obtained within a session for any research purpose. If you are looking for information, please contact us directly.
5. We do not tolerate harassment of any kind.
   This includes verbal abuse of another participant, flooding, flaming, spamming, advertisements of any form, or use of malicious programs including but not limited to IRC clients, worms, bots scripts, Trojan horses or any other form of virus. We reserve the right to report people who initiate or participate in any such activity to their ISP, and terminate their account with Bodywhys YouthConnect indefinitely.
6. We discourage participants from using or providing full names, or any other information such as postal addresses or phone numbers.

Bodywhys YouthConnect facilitators reserve the right to remove you from the group session without warning if they feel that you are in breach of any of the rules or guidelines. We reserve the right to temporarily suspend or permanently terminate a participant’s registration with Bodywhys YouthConnect. We may also take further action such as reporting a participant to their ISP, where deemed appropriate. It is at the sole discretion of the facilitator to remove a user from the group session, to suspend & their registration or to permanently ban them.

We do not wish to exclude anybody unless absolutely necessary. So if you think a facilitator has suspended or terminated your registration with Bodywhys YouthConnect unfairly, please contact us directly.

Data Protection – Right to be Forgotten

As part of data protection, you have the right to be forgotten i.e. your personal data can be erased. For our online support groups this means that your user account will be deleted from our system upon request.

Safeguarding of Vulnerable Individuals

All support services delivered by Bodywhys are provided on a confidential basis, within the limits of the organisation’s Child Protection Policy.

Bodywhys has a duty of care and is required to contact An Garda Síochána and/or the Health Service Executive (HSE) in the event the organisation, including its staff and volunteers, are concerned about an individual. For example:

• An online support group user is at risk from harm from themselves or others.

Internet Protocol (IP) addresses
When a user logs into an online group their IP address is logged. IP addresses information can be accessed designated staff members who supervise the organisation’s support services.

Where Bodywhys is concerned about the safety and welfare of an individual, the organisation will follow its safeguarding procedure. This includes providing the IP address of the user to An Garda Síochána.
